Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. In 2015, he was the first athlete to represent the USA in the World Rowing Coastal Championships. He is a member of the first USRowing coastal committee and an instructor on the USRowing coastal coaching certification courses. Ben has attained A-finals World Championship finishes in both the single and the quad, and holds a number of course records in long distance coastal races in the US and abroad. Ben also lived for many years in Zen Temples, trained Kung Fu and Tai Chi in full-time training centers in China, and studied mind-body arts in India. He integrates these disciplines into his training methodology to unlock the full potential of the coastal rowing athlete. Well known for pushing the limits, Ben is master of rough water, and coaches his athletes into finding the hidden advantages in all situations.
